DO YOU WANT TO TRY SPEED SKATING? Join us for our learn-to-speed-skate trial program. Experience the fun of short track speed skating – long-blade skating around an oval in a hockey rink equipped with safety padding around the boards – with a friendly team of volunteers, coaches, and other skaters.
The youth trial is an 8 session trial that gives skaters the opportunity try the out the fast and fun sport of Speed Skating. Skaters must be confident on regular skates before the trial.
The adult trial is 5 on-ice sessions with the goal of introducing people to the sport many of us call a life-long passion. See the Adult Program page for more information.
Skate rental is included in the trial. Skaters will need to have a helmet, shatter-resistant safety glasses, neck guard, gloves, knee pads, and shin guards. (Note: Instead of safety glasses, a helmet with a full cage is acceptable as well as hockey style shin guards in lieu of shin guards and knee pads).
