Patrick began skating in Montreal, (his mother Joan formed the Ste. Foy
Speed Skating Club). Moving to Ottawa in 1971 he skated with the
Ottawa Club and then joined the Pacers.
1972 he won the Winter Carnival; Ontario Outdoor Closed; Ontario Indoor Closed
Junior Boys Titles.
1973 Lake Placid Diamond Trophy, International Junior Boys Title and
at the Canadian Outdoor Championship, (Winnipeg, MB), finished 2nd overall
in Junior Boys with a record of 1:36.3 in the 1000m.
1975 Canada Winter Games, Mass Start, (Lethbridge, AB), - bronze medal
with 500m Gold (record) 42:65.3 and 1500m 2:28.4.
1977 Canadian Outdoor Championship bronze in the 500m.
1978 Ontario Winter Games Team, (Kingston, ON). Patrick's
picture was featured on the Official Program cover and he placed 1st in the
competitions.
Patrick was also a builder.
1981 Pacer Director, Team Manager Canadian Indoor Championship,
(Regina, SK).
1982 he organized and coached the Sudbury, ON Speed Skating Club.
1983 certified Level 1 Referee.
1984 ISAO Vice President, Development.
Patrick coached with the Pacers, Cambridge, Montreal and Sudbury clubs.
Residing in Quebec City, QC in 1989 he continued to keep a keen and active
involvement in his beloved sport. |
