Both Alan and Glenda were made life members of the club in 1995.

Alan was also active at meets as a level 2 timer, level 3 announcer and level 3 starter.  He submitted a proposal to have Ottawa as the site for a second artificial oval in Canada and obtained grants from difficult sources.

Glenda dedicated many years to organising speed skating in Ottawa.  She was Meet Co-ordinator for every short track and long track event in Ottawa from 1982 to 1989 including the National Long Track competition in 1986.  She also contributed her time as judge and timer.

Glenda designed and made Pacers’ speed skating outfits, including the logo which she and son Steve applied to the suits.

Glenda’s great contribution to speed skating was in organising and publicity.  She developed the Ottawa Winterlude Triathlon and ran it for 12 years as well as the summer Tour des Bakeries cycling event for 8 years, from which the Pacers benefited financially and publicity-wise.
