Winnipeg was where Andrew began skating, but his family came East in 1974.

1974    joined the Pacers and earned a place on the Ontario Team to the Canadian Indoor held in Ottawa.
1976    won the silver medal for junior boys in the Ontario Outdoor Championships.
1977    silver medal for junior boys in the Canadian Outdoor Championships.
1978    Kitchener Waterloo Oktoberfest brought him a gold medal in the Intermediate Men's division, tied with Pacer Steve Graham.  At the Scarboro Short Track he obtained two second place finishes and two fourth place, earning fourth overall.  Andrew gained a place on the Ontario team for the Canadian Championships, (Red Deer, AB), as well as the North American, (Scarborough, ON).
1979    Ontario Closed (Kingston, ON), he won silver for Intermediate Men which qualified him for the Canada Winter Games in Brandon MB.

Andrews skating accomplishments kept the Pacers in the news in the early years.
